Neuromodulators
At Harmony Health & Wellness, we offer the neuromodulator Dysport. These treatments reduce muscle movement, leading to a decrease in wrinkles.
What to expect
During your neuromodulator consultation, you will review your concerns with one of our practitioners. We will discuss treatments options and develop a plan that is personalized to your needs. We will then mark the injection areas so you can visualize the plan. You will have an option to receive numbing medication prior to treatment. The number of injections you will receive varies per patient based on your individual treatment plan. Your practitioner will then inject a small needle into the injection points. You may feel a small amount of stinging or burning during the injection. The actual treatment procedure lasts about 10 minutes.
Pre-Procedure Prep

One week prior to procedure: Avoid any blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, and Motrin to prevent bruising. Also avoid herbal supplements such as omega-3 capsules, vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, garlic and ginkgo biloba. Inform the provider of your medications and if you have a skin condition that requires a prescription. If you are on any of these medications as a prescription from a healthcare provider, discuss this with one of our providers or the prescribing practitioner.

Three days prior to procedure: Avoid waxing, tweezing, bleaching and hair removal creams to the facial area.

Do not consume alcohol at least 24 hours prior to procedure.

Avoid wearing make-up on the day of your appointment.
Post-Procedure Instructions

Avoid massaging or touching the areas injected for at least 4 hours.

No lying down or putting pressure on the face for at least 4 hours after injections.

Avoid vigorous exercise for the remainder of the day.

Avoid wearing tight ponytails or headbands immediately after injections.

Take it easy for the remainder of the day you received the injections.

You may resume normal activities the day after your injections.

Do not apply make-up for at least 24-48 hours post-procedure.

Anti-aging products such as alpha hydroxy acid, Tretinoin (Retin-A), glycolic acid, retinols and retinoids can be used 48 hours after procedure.

Any anti-inflammatories or supplements such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, omega-3 capsules, vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, garlic and ginkgo biloba may be continued 72 hours after procedure.
Follow Up Care

Most patients will begin to see results within several days of treatment.

Results may continue to improve for 2 weeks, with the majority visible within 7-10 days.

A 2-week follow-up appointment allows time for the neurotoxin to work, and assess the need for any touch up treatments or additional dosing
